Pricing your services- a reality check please!

How many times have you compromised on the fees for your services? Let's talk about how to price services -it's time for a reality check! Watch the video below to get a new perspective and then start using my top 5 points (below the video) to consider when setting your fees.

How to price services:

1. The price Your value is not negotiable.
2. Be clear on what you are serving...filet mignon is not the same as a beef taco! This is the secret to standing firm on your fees when closing a new project.
3. Value is not a side dish, it's the main course! The benefits of working with you are what you bring into the project. This must be the main theme when promoting your offerings. We all know there are loads of other people offering the same-ish service, however YOU are the difference. So, make sure you are highlighting this as much as possible.
4. Get out the price tag stickers. Add the price of your services / products on your website. This will set the expectation right away on the financial commitment required to work with you.
5. Untangle road blocks around money & self-worth. Many women are challenged by the squirmy mess of self employment, money & self-worth. Find a method to flag the "dark side" of self-employment when it comes raining down (because it's guaranteed to show-up).

What are your methods for receiving full value for your services? Write your thoughts below...

How to leave a lasting impression with a simple comment.

Do you know that leaving comments on a blog posts is a great way to bring new people in front of your business? Well, only if you do it right! Here are my top 5 tips for how to leave a lasting impression with a simple comment:

1.  Before you leave a comment I want to make sure you are giving your attention to a community that is aligned with your business purpose.  If you are a Jeweler then leaving a comment on the Mud Racers of Kentucky blog may not generate the connections you are aiming at developing.

2.  Showing up just to promote- not valuable to you or anyone you are attempting to reach.  It is like going to your favorite author's book signing event and setting-up a card table with your book in the same room! All because you felt people would also enjoy your book. Not cool, right? You are pretty much doing this when you promote your business in a comment from another business's blog post. But there is a simple way to share your goods without getting kicked out of the room!

3. How would you reply if this were a conversation with a good friend? Remember you are building relationships with people- the blog author and her readers- so provide value with actions steps, other resources, or a personal story that relates to the blog you've just finished reading.

4. Show gratitude and appreciation to the author for her perspective, insights, actionable ideas, reviews, ect. True praise will go a long way because it is not a common reply offered on a blog post by other readers- so you will intrigue people aka drive more people to your website.

5. Leave your blog as the url option when leaving a comment. Most blogs have a place for your name, email and then your website- you can choose one of your blog posts, youtube videos, facebook image, ect that relates to the blog post you are reading.  This shows your ability to participate and adds value to the conversation.

The Little Engine That Sucked…

You know the story The Little Engine that Could and how he overcame his challenges by positive thinking...well, I am proposing an updated version called The Little Engine That Sucked. It's still a story about reaching your goals but this time he is going to:

  • make mistakes,
  • look stupid,
  • feel afraid,
  • doubt himself,

AND continues on track to his vision.

It is time to shine light on the darker side of being an entrepreneur with the purpose of inspiring commitment, growth and willingness to be vulnerable when achieving your dreams. Be willing to lean into the uncertainty of what is just ahead. Be fueled by your unbridled passion to create your vision into your future. Because even if you are on the right track if you stop, the train it will eventually run you over!

Of course you are already using positive thinking, keeping a positive self-belief and surrounding yourself with supportive people but they will only take you so far when you reach the dark tunnel of doubt, resistance, and fear.

What will you do to keep moving? Here is what you do: you suck ass, you look stupid, you make mistakes and then celebrate how sucky you are doing!

Let me clarify what celebrating your suckiness means:

  • This is not a pity party.
  • This is not a chance to pull out all the reasons you can't move forward.
  • This is about embracing the imperfections you will create.
  • This is about loving YOU even when you don't want to.
  • This is about pure acceptance for all you bring into the world.

I'm declaring this week to be the "I totally sucked and celebrated it" week!

Are you willing to join me?

You need to do this on Facebook…now please!

If you have a business page on facebook and don't know how to link your page to your employment info on your personal profile, I can help!  If you don't link to your business page it is going to a "community" page which you have no control over!

Stop Expecting Results On Social Media

Stay with a process long enough and you will receive something from your commitment. This is a universal law- results come from a process. Actually if you look up the word "result" in the dictionary here is what you will see:

Definition of RESULT
1. Something that ensues from an action, policy, course of events, etc.; to proceed or arise as a consequence, effect, or conclusion.

The history of the word Result means to 'jump backwards'. The word originates from the Latin resultāre, re- ‘back’ and saltāre ‘jump’. In medieval Latin it came to be used figuratively for ‘happen as a consequence’.

Today it seems, 'Results' is used as a quick jump to the end result completely ignoring the process needed to arrive at the desired outcome.

7 Things I want you to understand about social media:

  • You choose who you want to interact and grow with...you have lots of control!
  • But those people you choose also choose you...or not!
  • Only posting status updates on your profile is not interactive.
  • Profiles are people...real people...who desire authentic connections...just like you.
  • Making friends in "real" life takes time. Making friends online is the same process..remember profiles are real people.
  • Only promoting your business, services, events and products is not interactive.
  • Facebook, twitter, youtube, linkedin, etc are not golden tickets they are simply tools (like email, text and voice mail).

Stop expecting results from social media if you aren't willing to show up consistently by making comments on others' posts, sharing your own content, and being interactive with people. Social media is a beautiful place to be with like minded people.

It is your unique energy, perspectives, values, thoughts, ideas, experiences, etc that allow people to develop a connection. It is through your consistent actions taken to develop these connections where you can expect results. If you are struggling to find the value of using social media look back at your actions in the last 6 months.  What do you see?

One overlook on Youtube that is costing you…

Wow! You could be are making this mistake on Youtube!  You have a unique message to share with your audience in a way only you can deliver. Watch my video to learn how to increase exposure to your audience with this super easy tip for Youtube.com.

Supercalifragilipstick

I was inspired and giggly all at once when I saw Kate Spade's new line of lipstick, created and produced with the lovely Poppy King (The Lipstick Queen).
Am I a lipstick collector? nope, I probably wear lipstick about 30 days out of the year (side effect of working from home with two kids). It was the name that caught my attention!

Supercalifragilipstick

Most used ED pill - http://edwebstore.com/buy/forzest . Many our customers can buy it at Edwebstore.com and save more then 50%.

It embodies a playful yet sophisticated feeling on a product that is normally quite boring. I am whisked away to my favorite childhood movie, Mary Poppins. You know the song Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, right?

Here is a refresher-

What I love the most about the name is that it is in harmony with Kate Spade's mission statement:

Do you consider the name of your products, events or even the subject of your emails to be aligned with your overall mission for your business?

The answer is always…

"The answer is always love."

This has been my mantra over the last week, as I surrender to the flow of abundance and practice loving my money. The question I posed last week was how does a wholehearted savvy business owner approach challenges? Right now my challenge is the tangle of money & self-worth. The answer revealed to me was completely unexpected.

When a clients inquires about their marketing, my reply is "What is your desired outcome or end result?" This is important for their online marketing because we begin with their overall vision first and then work backwards to determine the best strategy of social media sites, the type of content, their most engaging audience, images, etc to support the development and growth into their desired outcome.

So, I used this question on myself "Adeah, what is your desired outcome in your relationship with money? And in relationship with your self-worth?" Then I held space open for the answers and listened carefully throughout my daily activities.  (Side note- This is an important part to developing into your desired outcome! Be open and listen for the answers to your questions.)

The heart of my desired outcome with money  is to hold the presence of grace and ease in my life.  It is not actually the money! It is the feelings I truly desire to experience. Knowing my desired outcome I started to reverse engineer a process to develop the presence of grace and ease in my life.

The process:

  • Self-love is the first step to elicit inner peace around my fears and challenges with money.
  • Be certain that the challenges are actually part of the process of my desired outcome.  The fear will pass. The other side of this process will be worth enduring the shadows (fear, doubt, resistance, etc.).
  • Weave unbridled joy into every action surrounding money.  Feel the grace and ease right now with each action associated with money.

Crazy! Huh? These answers were not what I could have predicted. Yet, I recognize this process with my clients who embrace wholehearted marketing for their business. The women who have the most success with their marketing, approach each challenge with self-love, faith and enthusiasm for the unknown.

What are you stuck with in your marketing? Ask yourself "What is my desired out come?" and wait for the answer to show-up.  I would love to hear your desired outcomes! Please leave a comment by posting your desired results with your marketing challenges.

A bun dance.

A bun dance by Adeah WetzelOwning a business includes generating an income and for me supporting others in generating more income in their businesses.  An interesting connection between money and self-worth has emerged during this journey of wholehearted living.  It has occurred to me that abundance and prosperity are an important part of wholehearted living.

These are my truths about money-

  1. Money is energy.  I call it green energy.
  2. Like energy (light for example), there is an infinite supply for everyone.
  3. A lack of money is simply a perception or a group of beliefs that create limits on the infinite supply available to you.

Shifting my beliefs about money has not been a simple process (is any personal growth journey ever simple?).  Acting in faith of these truths about money is SO SCARY! All kinds of resistance, doubt and fear cast a shadow over my faith.  I start looking to act and do and be the "right way" with my money.  Based on many experiences with the "right way" path it will never lead to abundance, only scarcity and increased fear.

So what is a savvy business owner  to do, to sustain a wholehearted way in life? Based on these truths of being human the first answer to any question is love.  And this is where I am exploring how to love my money.

What are you doing to stay in abundance? Are you challenged and even scared to take actions based on prosperity vs scarcity? Share your comments below.

The next post I will share what process reveals itself to answer with love.

Truths about being human.

After discovering Brené Brown's work I changed my way of being in my business. Making a change to my business name to Wholehearted Social Media was more than a declaration of my approach it has become an invitation to experiencing the raw wonder of being human.  Have you ever stood in line for a ride at a carnival not knowing which ride you would be taking? This is what my experience has been over the last 8 months.

Often I see personal growth and development in my clients when we dig into their marketing. It is an expected side effect when you are living your passion as your business.  However,  I was slow to accept that this process was unfolding for myself!  It was a mix of denial and a touch of "I can't handle this right now, I am running a business!".

Guess what I figured out? This is process is the very innards of a heart centered business. While everyone's journey to being the highest version of yourself is different I want to share a few of truths about being human with you.

  1. Love is the answer every time, no matter what question you are asking.
  2. Acceptance is simple but not always easy. Again love will clear a path to acceptance.
  3. Shadows (fear, doubt, resistance and other icky feelings that come up) are signs you are on the path of growth. Simply accept these as signals to your development and keep moving forward.
  4. Gratitude is a key. Use it to unlock grace, compassion and clarity during your journey.

What other truths have you discovered?

Let A 5-Year Old Tell You About Successful Marketing

Things I know about marketing have come from the most bizarre places. Turns out my 5 year old knows some awesome inside tips about marketing. Plus, she has agreed to let me share them with you.

Say It Out Loud!

Do you ever notice how young kids share everything with just about everyone? Are you telling enough people about your business? Tell lots of people about your business. Not how they can purchase your new book! Tell them WHY you created what you did and why you LOVE it so much. If you are at a networking event it is best to promote your social media sites, whichever one you are the most active on, because the purpose is to make a friend - not be the annoying cheese-ball of the networking group.

Wear a look like no one else.

5 years olds dress for themselves. Period. How are you dressing your image? Are you hoping to look like everyone else with a basic third person text website, no updates on your LinkedIn page since day one of setup, bi-monthly newsletters longer than your long john underwear?

These are not you! I promise whatever the little voice inside is whispering about your business give it a chance to come out. There is no right way to be yourself.

Be Picky And Proud Of It.

Picky eaters can be such a pain in the butt, however once you know “the food list” then it is a breeze. My guess is you are not being picky enough about who you market your business to and so it is a struggle.

You must stop saying “anyone, really can purchase my coaching (or your product)”. But if you are marketing to Mr. & Mrs. Anyone they aren’t buying…ever…so stop it!

Do it Just Because You Love it.

A 5 year old spends 80% of their day doing what they love to do and look how happy they are! Decide what you LOVE to do. Not what you think will make you money. First get clear on what thrills you and fuels your soul.

Now, who out of anyone in the world would LOVE to have what you are offering? I promise there is an image of a specific character that will come to your mind. Take an hour to develop this character with pen and paper.  Be as detailed as possible, does she like coffee or tea, organic cotton or blended cloth, scary movies or comedies, etc.

Once this character has developed hire her to join your marketing team (figuratively)! Every time you have a new product or event or copy to write on your website consult your newly hired team mate. Ask her "What would you get from this?" and "Do you like what I have here for you?"

Put yourself in her shoes. What excites her? What pains and struggles does your service or product serve? How will working with you improve her quality of life? Why is your product the best choice for her problem?

"Should" is Not a Business Model.

Somewhere after 5 or 6 years old it seems people stop being as they desire and more as they "should" in the world.  Yuck (and boring too)!  Being an entrepreneur can be stressful especially if you are trying to fit into a "I should" business model. There is room for joy, excitement and silliness in your business.

Does this resonate with you? In the comments below tell me how you will be more like a 5 year old in your marketing!

5 signs your are in the dark with your marketing

You receive a call from a friend who desperately needs your help building a project. She asks you to come over and bring your tools ASAP.

Then the call ends.

So you grab a hammer and a screwdriver and head over to her house.

Yet, when you get there you realize the project is painting her bathroom wall...and the tools you brought along are NOT going to offer any help.

You laugh realizing you never asked her what the project was or what kind of tools she needed.

Because you can't paint with a hammer!

You may be doing this with your marketing...shocking I know. So how do you know if you are bringing the wrong tools or you are in the dark about your project?

Here are 5 signs your are in the dark with your marketing. Or in other words  you are trying to paint with a hammer:

  1. You are sharing consistent content on your blog and/or social media sites, yet you are not getting any comments or participation.
  2. Your interactions with people on social media are not sparking meaningful conversations or interactions. Your family or college friends are always replying to your posts with comments like "oh wow." or "I wish you would help me out" or "You are still doing this work?".
  3. You don't relate or care for any of the posts your friends are sharing on facebook (or linkedin or twitter). It is really hard for you to participate with your social media network.
  4. Your cash flow is low. You notice a decline in your sales and/or new clients.
  5. You see your colleagues building a wonderful community with a variety of interactions on their facebook page and wonder what you are doing wrong.

Now are you ready to trade in your tools and get focused on the right project?  Marie Forleo breaks down some great steps as a starting point:

What?! You said “You are one sexy momma!” to a prospect?

Sometimes when I hear “just be you” I am not sure how that translates in “real” life.  Through-out my life I have heard various “be authentic” messages yet only in the last two years am I beginning to take ownership of this concept. You see, starting at 6 years old I went to my first personal/spiritual development retreat (I still have a heart pin given to me at graduation).  I have always felt an inner agreement about “being myself” yet I have been cautious to act on this idea and even more reluctant to trust in it.

Are you like me? I experience fear and decide to play it safe. Later, I go over conversations in my mind rehearsing my “authentic  me” performance. Come on, we all do this! It is normal.

Well, normal but not all that nurturing for our growth (in all areas of our lives). What I am discovering in taking ownership of my “just be you” lifestyle is that life is really fun, fulfilling and even simple.  Notice I did not say easy.  The fear and self-doubt still show up, now I use them as the green light to take action from my heart and do it my way.

The other day I was on call with a potential client, who was a referral from a long standing client, and after she finished sharing about her and her business my first reply out of my mouth was “Okay, thanks. First I have to say, you are one hot sexy momma for being 67, I am so inspired by your commitment to taking care of yourself!” (During our call she told me she is 67 years old and therefore slow to take on technology.)

Then right way I thought ooooh, maybe I was too excited and should have kept that to myself. I mean really, she is a gorgeous woman and I couldn’t just pass over this amazing truth and start talking about business.  Right?

So, can you guess what her response was? She very confidently said “Yes, I am a sexy momma!” We enjoyed a giggle together and then started talking about her business and marketing needs.

Simply by sharing the “real me” with a new prospect I created a feeling of connection between who I am and who she is.  More importantly I honestly acknowledged something unique and special about her that most consultants or first time business associates would never say!

What I know for my clients is the more they share their unique and special skills, passions, thoughts and perspectives the more interactions they receive on their social media sites, blogs and newsletters.

You can start doing this too! Look at your last newsletter, blog or status update on facebook and ask yourself “What would I have written to a good friend or close relative?” This usually opens your heart and quiets the inner critic. Listen to the answer and take action right away.  Draft some status updates to share this week on facebook or be open-hearted in your next blog posting. When you market yourself from your heart, it opens your audience eyes to see your greatest offerings (and they will want more!).

Leave a comment below and share your journey (or doubts) in using whole-hearted marketing in your business.

Balance…it’s the other white meat

11-a-balanced-life by Americanhell.comExploring life as a mother and a business owner is a fascinating adventure.  I have thoughts racing through my mind daily about finding balance between the many responsibilities that come with these titles in my life.

And just as often there are few, if any actions which satisfy my cravings for the fairness I seek between being a great mom and a successful business owner (not to mention the handful of other hats I wear!).  To be fair I felt this as an employee when I first became a mom; however in my mind the burden of success is higher for business owners than it is for employees.

My desire is to be all I can be in both aspects of my life.  As the years go on I am questioning if this balance can be achieved! So I have decided to search for the answer to this challenge.  Where do I begin?

Be careful what you set your heart upon-- for it will surely be yours.
-James Baldwin

What is Balance? A state of equilibrium or equality of distribution.

What is equilibrium? A stable situation in which forces cancel one another.

What is force? Coerce: to cause to do through pressure or necessity, by physical, moral or intellectual means.

This would mean my desires to be a good mother require me to coerce my desires to be a successful business owner in order to achieve a state of equality between these two desires.  Perhaps it is not balance I seek.

I invested in loving my kids from the day they were born and will continue to do so, without fail, for the rest of my life. I never “balanced” my life, I “optimized” it! - Janet Hanson, Founder & CEO of 85 Broads

While googling "balance" the  majority of the links lead to art & design websites. Every piece of information regarding balance included something about symmetry and asymmetry...now I am on to something!

The Greek meaning of symmetry is to measure together.

In reference to art and math symmetry means: An exact matching of form and arrangement of parts on opposite sides of a boundary, such as a plane or line, or around a central point or axis.

Symmetry is what I am seeking- a wholeness between the opposing parts. For me that means between being a fabulous mom (part 1) and being a fabulous business woman (part 2).   However I can recognize these two parts are only a small piece of the larger picture- back to all those other titles - that creates my life.  I can see this beautiful image- like a mandala that is my life.

Can you relate to this? If so how do you define this sweet spot? Leave a comment on how you create and define "balance" between the priorities in your life.

Unplug to Recharge

Oh! The View!

Recently my family and I took a 3 day camping trip with the goal of relaxing and enjoying family time.  As we were packing for Seward, Alaska I debated on if I should leave or take my work.  Working from home is a blessing because I can do my work anywhere there is an internet connection.  When we go on trips I always bring my laptop with me but this time there was a voice inside my head whispering "unplug yourself, leave your work, unplug yourself". So at the last minute I unpacked my computer and made the choice to unplug for 3 days!  This included my cell phone after we arrived at the camp site.

While driving the 127 mile trip I wondered if it was okay to leave my work for 3 days. What if a client had a social media emergency! How would I fix it without my computer? What if I missed out on an announcement for a new technology? Would people on facebook miss my posts and comments? Then I heard the whisper again "unplug...unplug".  Trusting my intuition I took some deep breaths and shifted my focus on the scenery.

Eventually the urge to check my email, browse my facebook newsfeed and share my experience via status updates faded into the background of mountains, ocean and smore's.  I became present and realized how wonderful it was to turn off the chatter and enjoy the real time chat with my family.

When I returned to my work I was jazzed up and energized for my clients.  Unplugging to recharge is so obvious yet can present as a challenge to efficiency and professionalism.  How do you unplug...or do you even unplug?  Share your ideas now by leaving a comment below.

How and Why You Should Market Your YouTube Videos

Do you enjoy uploading videos that you made to the YouTube website?  If so, you may be pleased with all of the traffic that you get.  YouTube is known to get thousands of visitors a day.  For you, this means that your YouTube videos may be watched by thousands of people or more!  As much traffic as YouTube brings you and your videos, you may be looking for more.  If you are, you will want to examine other ways to market your YouTube videos.  Just a few of the many marketing approaches that you can take are outlined below.

Perhaps, the easiest way to market your YouTube videos is to let friends, family members, or coworkers know that you have videos available for viewing on YouTube.  For the best chance of success, you are advised to email the direct links for your YouTube videos to those that you know.  If you just happen to mention having your videos on YouTube to a friend in passing, let them know what your videos are about or what your YouTube screen name is.  YouTube allows site visitors to browse through all of their videos or search for something in particular, like one of your videos.

Another one of the many ways that you can market your YouTube video is by having any of your videos appear on any websites or blogs that you have.  What is nice about YouTube is that you can easily get a few HTML codes.  Those codes will enable you or any other internet users to post a YouTube video online.  It is not uncommon for bloggers to insert a YouTube video in their blog, by using generated HTML codes.  It is advised that you post your own YouTube videos on your own websites, but if you know of anyone else who has a blog, you may want to think about giving them the needed HTML codes to have your YouTube video appear on their blog.  In most cases, you will find that even strangers are willing to do so, as long as your YouTube video is connected, in one way or another, to their blog or website.

You can also market your YouTube videos on online message boards.  Online message board marketing can be done two different ways.  For instance, there are a large number of online message boards that let you discuss of share anything, in general, with other board members. You may want to think about posting links to some of your YouTube videos, especially if you think the other members would enjoy watching them.  If you belong to an online message board or forum that allows you to have a signature, you will want to look into doing so.  Your signature will always appear at the end of each of your messages; therefore, the more active you are online, the more exposure your YouTube videos are likely to get.

Now that you know a few ways that you can go about marketing your YouTube videos to other internet users, you may be wondering exactly why you should.  As it was mentioned above, YouTube, alone, is likely to generate thousands of viewers for your videos.  If you are looking for more views, whether just to increase your online popularity or to help you get new clients, if you connect your YouTube videos to your business somehow, you will want to take the time to market your YouTube videos.  What is nice is that you have a number of different methods available, including the three mentioned above, and most are free.  In fact, marketing your YouTube videos to other internet users isn’t only free, but it is easy to.  Many marketing tactics will only take up a few minutes of your time, if even that.

The decision as to whether or not you want further market your YouTube videos is yours to make. If you find yourself unsatisfied or unhappy with your current YouTube viewer ship, you may want to think about doing a little bit of your own marketing.

Create presence through Social Media Optimization

Websites try to increase their popularity through all possible means and this includes social media optimization also. Social media sites are catching-up very fast. Most net-users are connecting to their account daily, while some even twice or thrice a day.

Users are interested in the applications, games, social events, activities and so on. So Companies are organizing these activities in respect to customer demand to create awareness and remind the people of their presence, constantly. Social media optimization popularizes website through:

Links: Creating links is the first and foremost priority for websites. There are many sites which do not pay much attention for their promotion. To increase the presence of the website; SEO needs to increase the linkability of content. SEO Services Company adds blogs, creates white papers, and introduces thought pieces and simply aggregate content into useful information. All these activities create links with other websites and convert the dormant site active.

Tagging and Bookmarking: Constructing sure pages including a list of relevant tags. This also includes suggested notes for links – which come-up automatically when pages are tagged. It is essential to tag the pages and not just the home page to become popular on social bookmarking sites.

How To Make A Business Fan Page On Facebook

Making a fan page on facebook is a simple process. Fan pages can be used for business and pleasure; make a fan page for fun or as a marketing tool for your business. Fan Pages are often referred to as Business Pages.

To create a Facebook fan page you must first have a Facebook profile and be logged in. Information regarding your page should also be to hand – content, images etc.

Think about the title for your fan page – this is very important as Facebook will NOT let you change it. Take your time and pick your title carefully as this is what people will see when searching for your page and it is also what Facebook uses when searching for your fan page.

An eye-catching image is a must. This will draw users to your fan page. I feel a square image is best as Facebook will frame your image and crop it into a square icon. It is this square icon that will show in the news stream.

Now you are ready to create your fan page. Click on the link "Ads and Pages" link on the left side of your home page and then on the "Create Page". Select the category of the page and the title you thought of earlier -  I would advise on clicking the "Do not make Page publicly visible at this time." until you get your page looking just the way you want.

This is your page created. Editing the information is very similar to your normal facebook profile. Make sure you add your image and information about your page before you publish and start promoting. No one will become a fan of a fan page that is empty!

Customizing your fan page design is more complex and requires FBML & HTML knowledge however it is worth considering if you are serious about getting your brand image across!

Now invite all your friends to become fans – all of them (the more fans the better!)

How to Rank High on Youtube

How to Rank High ON YOUTUBE THE EASY WAY!

YouTube Traffic Made Easy

Did you know that youtube.com is ranked number 3 on the entire internet as one of the most popular sites in the world according to Alexa.com.

I’m sure you knew that. Check out these statistics:

Total number of YouTube videos = over 120,000,000

  • Number of videos uploaded per day = about 200,000
  • Time required to see all the videos = over 600 years
  • Number of videos watched daily = over 100,000,000
  • Amount of content uploaded every minute = 13 hours
  • Number of accounts on YouTube = over 300,000,000

Obviously this is the best place to drive traffic to your website or become popular online but competition is tough and get your videos to be seen by people becomes more difficult by the minute.

So, today you I will share some of my tricks that I personally use to get more views, ratings and subscribers into your YouTube account.

Page 1 of YouTube Traffic Made Easy

YouTube is kind of like Google, people search for something and expect to get results (in this case videos) related to the keywords they used.

Well lets say you wanted to post a video about "How to make a blog" if you go on YouTube now and type that exact same thing about 85,000 results will show but of course most people only look at the first page, your goal is to be on that first page and this is how to do it.

SECRET TIP #1: Every time you’re going to upload a new video search for keywords related to the content of the video you’re going to upload, the video with most views will pop up on the first page so before you upload your video, click on the first video of the first page and see their video info. You must copy their tags only not their description. The purpose of this is to get your video to be in their related videos even though yours is new giving you a bigger chance of exposure.

NOTE: If your video has a lot of views it will instantly dominate the keyword your aiming making you number 1 on the first page, and even if it doesn’t have a lot of views it is still possible to be on the first page just by copying the tags of the most popular video.

Increase Your YouTube Views

Some people try to cheat YouTube to try to get more exposure for their videos using Auto-refreshers and software’s like Tubeincreaser to give fake views to their videos. I believe this is unnecessary because the whole point of uploading videos is for people to see them.

But, if you still feel the need to do it, you can do it with YouTube simple.

SECRET TIP #2: After you have uploaded your video go to My Videos> AudioSwap and click on "I'm feeling lucky" as many times as you feel like it, this action will reload your video again, and again with different songs in seconds, giving you instant views every time you reload, once you get the views you want simply exit and don’t save your changes, since your doing it within YouTube, your views will not be frozen once they hit a certain amount, but if you use software like tubeincreaser there is a chance your views will get frozen.

AUDIOSWAP: allows you to replace the background sound of your music with music provided by YouTube.

Getting Subscriptions, Comments & Ratings on YOUTUBE

Subscriptions in YouTube are the main topic, people like having subscribers which is the equivalent to followers on Twitter. Now I will share some tips that will help you gain subscribers in YouTube.

Offer something free to share with viewers, or give something free to viewers for example an e-book or share something someone might enjoy usually giving freebies can help you gain subscribers

  • Upload videos every month constant activity and videos in your channel will gain you subscribers, there is more chances of getting subscribers if you have five videos than someone that has 1
  • Subscribe to other people's channels sometimes they will sub back
  • Comment, rate and complement videos as well as channels that you like some users will appreciate it and subscribe in return
  • Also add as many friends as you can, not only will make you popular but your videos will get viewed more.

YouTube & Google

Since YouTube is owned by Google, your videos can sometime show as results in Google, the more views you have the more traffic your going to get and the more popular your channel will be.

One more tip when uploading a video, make sure your video title always is clear and related to the content of the video, when a user makes a search on YouTube or Google they look for titles related to the keywords.

If your title is "How to make a blog" and a user types that same keywords then most likely your video will show as first result, numbers and symbols might not be helpful to better rankings in YouTube or Google.

Add Twitter Followers by Conducting a Survey on Twitter

When it comes to Twitter and the process to add twitter followers, have you thought about using surveys on Twitter to do so? While the idea may seem a bit far fetched, it really is a good way to add followers to your Twitter profile. Why is that, you may ask? Everyone likes taking a survey! What you would need to do is to create a survey that people will take. This survey can range in ideas from the concrete to the abstract. Creating a survey is not that hard to do.

To add twitter followers to your list, you will need to create a survey using tools such as TwtPoll and other such tools that are provided by Twitter. Here is how to create a survey. You need to define goals of the survey, pick the tools you will use, write the questions, test it and then put it up on Twitter. This survey can be from 5 questions to as many as you want. Deciding the questions and content can be the hardest part for creating a survey on Twitter. Once you have decided on the content, then you can move on.

Once you have got the survey complete, then it is time to put the survey up on Twitter. All you have to do is tweet the survey URL on your profile page and wait for people to take it. Word of mouth will allow you to add twitter followers to your profile as they take the survey and leave comments. You can do more than one survey if you wish to do so. Once your own followers have taken the survey, and if they liked it, then they will spread the word through their followers and more will come and take the survey.

The content of the survey is up to you, but the advice is to make the content interesting like current events or something that many people would be interested in. This is the best way to create a survey that will add twitter followers to your listings. The categories are endless so be creative and fresh without going overboard when creating the content for the survey. If the survey is for business, then you will need to know what content to put into the survey for a business purpose and create it.

To be able to add twitter followers, your content has to be unique and fresh. It also has to be relevant to both you and what people want. By making the material engaging, thought provoking and creative, you will be certain to be able to add people to your profile page. It really isn't that hard to do and the rewards of doing a survey on Twitter will allow you to both get lots of replies as well as adding more people to your Twitter account. So why not create a survey on Twitter today? Odds are that you will create a lot of talk and provoke some thought with the survey that you create on Twitter.

Are You Using Twitter Lists?

Twitter lists are essentially the long awaited Twitter "groups." This is a way to group your followers into categories and a way to find new followers. You now have the ability to group people any way you choose and name the list anything you choose. You can even include someone you're not following in a list.

For example, we have a list of our virtual assistants on the Activ8Business Twitter account. You can do the same, create a list of your employees, your affiliates, your competition, anything and anyone. Lists are your opportunity to create customized groupings on Twitter.

Creating A Twitter List
To start creating your Twitter lists is simple. When you're logged in look belong the search box and click New List. You will have to chose a name for your list and then you have two choices: Public or Private List.

Public List: These will be viewable by everyone. This is a great way to recommend followers.

Private List: These will only be viewable by you, not even those in the list will know they are there. This is a great way to keep an "eye" on your competition.

You will now be prompted to add users to your list. You can also add users when you are doing everyday Twitter browsing. Just click the drop down box and you will be able to add them to lists right from their profile. You can even add yourself to lists this way.

Removing Yourself from an Un-wanted List
If you have been listed somewhere you don't want to be you can block that person. Now keep in mind if you do this that person will not be able to follow you. This action can be undone. Visit your profile and click on your Listed link. From here you will click on the List you want to block. Once at the list along the right column you will see Block.

Finding Lists to Follow
Check out listorious.com where they offer a categorized directory of Twitter lists. Also the popular TweetMeMe has a list directory of the current "top" lists lists.tweetmeme.com

As you can see Twitter has added this feature to enhance your Twitter optimization. These new lists can be integrated into many Twitter management systems as well, like Seesmic and Hootsuite. Start making your lists, have fun and Tweet about your lists so people can follow them.

Facebook Business Applications and Marketing Tools

The idea behind using a social networking site as Facebook as a venue for doing business is building a user base in the form of a community who respond to you as a person or to your product. If you just turn your page into one big advertisement, you are not going to get much in the way of a response. You need to educate people about the product without coming across as a hard sell.

You want to create the impression that you are here for socializing, not business. People will come to trust you and be more likely to buy your product or service if you can do this.

Facebook has built in tools which can be used to build your business. These include:
- Social Ads
- Pages
- Beacon
- Insights
- Platform
- Polls

These tools can help you to build awareness of your brand through this social networking site and bring in potential clients. Needless to say, you are going to have to learn to use them effectively. Read on to find out how to harness these tools to build your business using social networking sites.

You can learn how to take further advantage of these features by visiting the facebook website business section.

SOCIAL ADS

Social ads have a lot of promise for building your business since they can go directly to the news feeds of your Facebook friends. Anyone who is on your friends list will be able to get the word about your business right on their profile page.

This is also a very easy way of target marketing. You can control exactly who sees your ads - and target marketing is the way to get sales.

FACEBOOK PAGES

You can make a Face book page for a business, just as you would for yourself. This allows people to interact with and even become friends with your business. It is a great way to make a lot of people aware of your product and your brand who would not otherwise.

You know when someone becomes friends with your business on Facebook that you have a potential client; at the very least, they have shown some interest. People can interact with your business as they would with any of their other social networking site friends - they can leave comments and generally enhance the experience of a visit to your page.

You can use this social networking site to your best advantage by adding features that will appeal to your target market and fit in with the brand image you are aiming to create. Quizzes, games, a Facebook group and so on.

FACEBOOK BEACON

Like social ads, Facebook Beacon gives you the ability to build your business by promoting yourself via your Facebook friends news feeds. You can set Beacon to notify all of your Facebook friends whenever you have a new product available, or any other sort of news or information you would like to disseminate amongst your Facebook friends. All you need to do is to add a little code to your Facebook page (this can be done by copy and paste, so no need to panic).

This encourages more interaction with your page, the website of your business and your company in general. This also helps get the word out about your businesses product or service.

Do not fret that you will be mercilessly spamming your Facebook friends and invading their privacy - they can opt out of these updates at any time they choose. You of course have the same ability for Facebook Beacon updates from others.

FACEBOOK INSIGHTS

If you are using facebook as a method of promoting your business you will of course want to know just who is checking out your Facebook page, clicking on your ads and joining your friends list. Facebook Insights is a tool which can give you a lot more detail on these sorts of statistics, which can help you to evaluate the efficacy of your campaign.

Armed with this information you can make the call as to whether viral marketing is working in your favor. Word of mouth is one of the best means of advertising and Facebook can facilitate it on a large scale. Facebook Insights lets you figure out what parts of your campaign are working and which are not as well as giving you valuable demographic information which will help you refine your campaign further.

FACEBOOK PLATFORM

Facebook Platform is an exciting tool for business indeed. Programmers can use this tool to build programs which will work with Facebook and add to the usefulness and fun of your Facebook page. If people like what you have on your page, they will spread the word and this build your client base.

You can add all manner of different applications to your site using this platform. Many opt for games, quizzes and other interactive features. You can have a look at the Applications page on the Facebook site to get an idea what sort of things others are using the platform for. These kinds of features can really help you build your brand image; take advantage of them.

FACEBOOK POLLS

Facebook polls can be a great way to gather demographic information from people using the site. Since you can make the poll interactive and fun to use, you'll have no trouble gathering data. Best of all, you can target your polling.

You can make sure your polls are targeted just where you want them to be since you already have access to some data such as marital status and age of your Facebook friends. This helps you keep your polling relevant.

Do not forget about these valuable tools - they can really help out your business.

Anyone who is willing to put in just a little bit of effort can make their own applications for Facebook. You just need to learn Facebook Markup Language - there are plenty of tutorials online which can help you learn the ropes of this quickly.

Remember to have a look through what is already out there in terms of Facebook applications before you develop your own. If everyone is already using a very similar application, not too many of your fellow facebook users will be enticed by it. Do something a little different if you want to grab the attentionof people.

CREATING APPLICATIONS FOR BUSINESS

With just a little bit of programming know how, anybody can make and distribute their own applications. You'll be doing this to build your business and it can make a big difference. Applications can really draw in people and keep them on your site. Games are especially popular and can build your brand while keeping users engaged and entertained.

You would be unwise to neglect the use of these applications available to you through Facebook. They can help get the word out about your business - and that is why you made a Facebook page for your business in the first place, no?

You will also be building a sense of community amongst all of these potential customers which will help you get sales.

Here are a few tips for getting the best results from your applications:

1) Make it relevant
In marketing, relevancy is everything. If your potential customers can not get into it, or if it is unclear how the application ties into your product or service, rethink your application.

2) Privacy policy
Even if they are on facebook to socialize, people still want their privacy to be respected. This is why there are friend lists and groups, to which one must be invited. Privacy is a natural human desire and Facebook facilitates this while still allowing for socialization. Remember to respect the privacy of users and retain that trust you have worked so hard to build with them.

3) Free distribution
Once your application is finished and ready to go, you will distribute it. You can do this by listing it on the site along with all of the other Facebook applications and then invite others to install it. If your facebook friends like your application, they will spread the word.
